Terms & Conditions

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last Updated: [29.07.2026]

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the BalticCareer website, services, accounts, subscriptions and job listings.

1. Service Provider

BalticCareer is operated by:

Country: Latvia
Email: info@balticcareer.eu

In these Terms, BalticCareer may be referred to as “BalticCareer”, “we”, “us” or “our”.

A person using the website may be referred to as the “User” or “you”.

A natural person purchasing services for purposes unrelated to their business or professional activity is referred to as a “Consumer”.

A person or organisation purchasing services for business, recruitment, crewing or professional purposes is referred to as a “Business User”.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By registering an account, purchasing a subscription, posting a vacancy, accessing restricted content or otherwise using BalticCareer, you confirm that:

  • you have read and understood these Terms;
  • you agree to be bound by these Terms;
  • the information you provide is accurate;
  • you have the legal capacity and authority to enter into this agreement.

Where required, you must separately accept these Terms during checkout.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not purchase or use our paid services.

Mandatory consumer rights under applicable law are not excluded or limited by these Terms.

3. Nature of the BalticCareer Platform

BalticCareer operates an online maritime and offshore job board.

BalticCareer provides:

  • access to maritime and offshore job listings;
  • subscription-based access to restricted vacancy information;
  • tools allowing employers and crewing professionals to publish job vacancies;
  • account and vacancy-management functionality.

BalticCareer is not:

  • a crewing agency;
  • an employer;
  • a recruitment agency acting on behalf of every advertiser;
  • a party to any employment agreement;
  • a guarantor of employment, interviews, responses or job offers.

Subscription fees are charged for access to the platform and its features. They are not payments for obtaining employment.

Any employment relationship, recruitment process, interview, travel arrangement, medical examination, certification requirement, salary agreement or contract is solely between the job seeker and the relevant employer, recruiter, shipowner, crewing company or other third party.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

Users must be at least 18 years old.

You must provide accurate and current information when creating an account.

Each account is intended for one individual or one authorised business organisation unless BalticCareer provides written permission otherwise.

You are responsible for:

  • protecting your login credentials;
  • all activity performed through your account;
  • keeping your email address and account information current;
  • notifying BalticCareer promptly about suspected unauthorised access.

Accounts, passwords and paid access may not be shared, transferred, rented, sold or made available to third parties.

5. Subscription Plans

5.1 Seafarer Subscription Plans

BalticCareer offers the following subscription plans for job seekers:

14-Day Subscription — €4.99
Access period: 14 consecutive days.

30-Day Subscription — €6.99
Access period: 30 consecutive days.

3-Month Subscription — €14.99
Access period: 90 consecutive days.

Annual Subscription — €39.99
Access period: 365 consecutive days.

A Seafarer Subscription may provide access to restricted vacancy information, application instructions, contact information and other subscriber-only platform features.

The exact features included in each plan are displayed on the relevant subscription page or checkout page.

A subscription provides access to the BalticCareer platform as a whole. It does not guarantee:

  • access to any particular vacancy;
  • a minimum number of active vacancies;
  • that a vacancy will remain available for the entire subscription period;
  • a reply from an employer;
  • an interview;
  • employment;
  • a particular salary, rotation or joining date.

Vacancies may be added, updated, filled, expired, withdrawn or removed at any time.

5.2 Crewing Manager Subscription

Crewing Manager Subscription — €29.99

Access period: 30 consecutive days.

The Crewing Manager Subscription allows an authorised employer, crewing company, shipowner, recruitment professional or other approved Business User to publish an unlimited number of legitimate vacancies during the active subscription period.

“Unlimited” means that BalticCareer does not impose a fixed numerical job-posting limit during the active subscription period. It does not permit spam, duplicate listings, automated mass posting, resale of posting access or publication of vacancies unrelated to the subscriber’s genuine professional activity.

The subscription is subject to:

  • these Terms;
  • fair-use requirements;
  • verification requirements;
  • vacancy-content rules;
  • moderation and technical platform limits.

One Crewing Manager Subscription may be used only by the company or professional account that purchased it. Posting access may not be resold, sublicensed or shared with unrelated third parties.

5.3 Prices

All prices are stated in euro.

The final price, including applicable taxes where required, will be displayed before the User completes payment.

BalticCareer may change its prices. Any price change will apply only to future purchases or future renewal periods. Where reasonably required, Users will be informed before a new price is charged.

Users who do not agree with a future renewal price may cancel before the next renewal date.

6. Payment Processing

Payments are processed through Stripe or another payment provider displayed during checkout.

BalticCareer does not directly store complete payment-card details.

By submitting payment information, you confirm that:

  • you are authorised to use the selected payment method;
  • the payment information is accurate;
  • you authorise the applicable subscription charge;
  • where applicable, you authorise recurring charges until cancellation.

Payment must be successfully completed before paid access or posting rights are activated.

BalticCareer may suspend access where a payment is declined, reversed, disputed, refunded or reasonably suspected to be fraudulent.

7. Subscription Renewal

Unless the checkout page clearly states that a particular plan is a one-time, non-renewing purchase, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.

Recurring subscriptions renew as follows:

  • 14-Day Subscription: every 14 days;
  • 30-Day Subscription: every 30 days;
  • 3-Month Subscription: every 90 days;
  • Annual Subscription: every 365 days;
  • Crewing Manager Subscription: every 30 days.

The applicable subscription price will be charged to the saved payment method at the beginning of each renewal period.

The renewal price and frequency must be clearly displayed during checkout.

A failed renewal payment may result in suspension or termination of paid access.

8. Immediate Access

Paid subscription access normally begins immediately after successful payment.

A Consumer who purchases a subscription and requests immediate access before the end of the statutory withdrawal period expressly requests that BalticCareer begin providing the service immediately.

Where required by law, this request must be provided through a separate, unticked checkbox during checkout.

9. Cancelling a Subscription

Users may cancel automatic renewal:

  • through the subscription or account section, where available; or
  • by contacting info@balticcareer.eu from the email address connected to the account.

Cancellation stops future renewal charges.

Unless otherwise required by law, cancellation does not immediately remove access. The User may continue using the paid service until the end of the period already paid for.

Cancellation does not automatically create a right to a refund for the current period.

A request to delete an account is separate from a request to cancel a subscription. Users should cancel recurring payments before requesting account deletion.

BalticCareer may request reasonable account-verification information before processing a cancellation request submitted by email.

10. Consumer Right of Withdrawal

This section applies only to Consumers who are entitled to a statutory right of withdrawal.

A Consumer may have the right to withdraw from a distance service contract within 14 days from the date the contract is concluded, without giving a reason.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the Consumer must send BalticCareer a clear statement before the withdrawal period expires.

The notice may be sent to:

Email: info@balticcareer.eu
Postal address: [FULL POSTAL ADDRESS]

The model withdrawal form at the end of these Terms may be used, but its use is not mandatory.

Immediate commencement of the service

Where the Consumer requests immediate subscription access during the 14-day withdrawal period:

  • the Consumer expressly requests that performance begin immediately;
  • if the Consumer withdraws after the service has begun but before it has been fully performed, the Consumer may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service provided up to the time of withdrawal;
  • the proportionate amount may be calculated according to the elapsed portion of the paid subscription period;
  • where the service has been fully performed, the Consumer may lose the right of withdrawal if the Consumer gave the required express consent and acknowledged this consequence.

Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer right.

11. Refund Policy

Except where a refund is required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable after paid access or posting functionality has been activated.

A refund is not normally provided for:

  • cancellation after a subscription has started;
  • failure to use the subscription;
  • failure to apply for vacancies;
  • failure to receive a reply from an employer;
  • failure to receive employment;
  • removal or expiry of an individual vacancy;
  • a change in the number or type of vacancies available;
  • suspension or termination caused by the User’s breach of these Terms;
  • unused time remaining in a subscription period;
  • accidental purchase caused by the User failing to review the plan details;
  • dissatisfaction with an employer or third party.

BalticCareer may provide a refund where:

  • required by mandatory consumer law;
  • a duplicate payment was collected;
  • an incorrect amount was charged because of a verified technical error;
  • BalticCareer was unable to provide the purchased service for a substantial part of the paid period;
  • BalticCareer expressly agrees to a refund in writing.

Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method.

Refund processing times may depend on Stripe, the card issuer and the User’s bank.

Cancellation of a subscription and requesting a refund are separate actions. A User requesting a refund must clearly state that a refund is also being requested.

12. Business Purchases

The Crewing Manager Subscription is normally purchased for business or professional purposes.

Where a subscription is purchased by a Business User in connection with commercial, recruitment, crewing, maritime or professional activity, statutory consumer withdrawal rights may not apply.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, Business User payments are non-refundable once:

  • posting access has been activated;
  • a vacancy has been submitted;
  • the account has used paid functionality; or
  • the subscription period has begun.

13. Job Posting Rules

Business Users are responsible for all vacancies and information submitted through their accounts.

Each vacancy must:

  • describe a genuine and current opportunity;
  • contain accurate and non-misleading information;
  • be posted by a person authorised to represent the employer or recruiter;
  • comply with applicable employment, recruitment, equality and anti-discrimination laws;
  • accurately describe relevant requirements, joining dates and employment conditions;
  • avoid unlawful, abusive or discriminatory language;
  • avoid false claims, deceptive salary information or impersonation;
  • avoid links to malware, phishing pages or fraudulent payment requests.

Business Users must not:

  • publish fake or non-existent vacancies;
  • post duplicate vacancies excessively;
  • collect personal data without a lawful purpose;
  • request illegal recruitment fees;
  • impersonate another company;
  • use BalticCareer to distribute spam;
  • advertise unrelated products, investments, gambling, illegal services or financial schemes;
  • publish content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy or confidentiality rights;
  • resell BalticCareer posting access;
  • use automated posting tools without written permission.

BalticCareer may verify, edit formatting, reject, suspend, expire or remove a vacancy where reasonably necessary.

Removal of a vacancy because of a breach of these Terms does not create a right to a refund.

14. Licence for Submitted Content

By posting a vacancy, logo, company description, image or other content, the Business User grants BalticCareer a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

  • host;
  • store;
  • reproduce;
  • format;
  • display;
  • distribute;
  • promote;
  • translate;
  • resize;
  • publish;

that content for the operation and promotion of the BalticCareer platform and its vacancies.

The Business User confirms that it owns the content or has permission to provide and publish it.

The Business User remains responsible for the legality and accuracy of submitted content.

15. Job Seeker Rules

Job seekers must not:

  • share paid vacancy information with unauthorised persons;
  • reproduce or redistribute BalticCareer’s restricted vacancy database;
  • scrape, harvest or automatically collect vacancy or contact information;
  • use employer contact details for unrelated marketing;
  • send spam or mass unsolicited messages;
  • impersonate another person;
  • submit false qualifications or documents;
  • harass employers, recruiters or other Users;
  • bypass subscription, security or access controls;
  • resell or commercially distribute BalticCareer content.

BalticCareer may limit or suspend accounts engaged in abnormal downloading, scraping, repeated login sharing or other activity reasonably indicating misuse.

16. Vacancy Information and Third Parties

Vacancy information may be supplied by employers, recruiters, crewing professionals or other third-party sources.

BalticCareer may review listings but does not guarantee that every vacancy is:

  • complete;
  • current;
  • accurate;
  • available;
  • suitable for a particular User;
  • published directly by the ultimate employer.

Users must independently verify:

  • the identity of the employer or recruiter;
  • the validity of the vacancy;
  • employment-contract terms;
  • salary and rotation;
  • travel arrangements;
  • certificate requirements;
  • visa or work-permit requirements;
  • medical and training requirements.

Users should not transfer money, provide banking credentials or send sensitive documents unless they have independently verified the recipient and purpose.

BalticCareer is not responsible for the conduct, representations, decisions or failures of employers, recruiters, candidates or other third parties.

17. No Employment Guarantee

BalticCareer does not guarantee:

  • employment;
  • an interview;
  • a response;
  • acceptance of an application;
  • suitability for a vacancy;
  • successful mobilisation;
  • a minimum salary;
  • a minimum number of vacancies;
  • uninterrupted availability of any particular employer.

Purchasing a subscription increases access to platform information but does not guarantee any particular recruitment result.

18. Intellectual Property

The BalticCareer website, design, branding, software, database structure, original text, graphics and other platform materials are owned by BalticCareer or used under licence.

Users may use the platform only for personal job-search purposes or authorised business recruitment purposes.

Without written permission, Users may not:

  • copy substantial parts of the website;
  • reproduce the restricted vacancy database;
  • create a competing database from BalticCareer content;
  • sell or redistribute BalticCareer content;
  • remove copyright or branding notices;
  • reverse-engineer or interfere with platform software;
  • frame or mirror the website;
  • use automated extraction tools.

19. Privacy and Personal Data

Personal data is processed in accordance with the BalticCareer Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Users should review the Privacy Policy before creating an account or purchasing a subscription.

Employers and Business Users receiving candidate data are independently responsible for processing that information lawfully and securely.

Users must not upload unnecessary sensitive personal data to public areas of the platform.

20. Suspension and Termination

BalticCareer may temporarily restrict, suspend or terminate an account where there is a reasonable belief that the User:

  • breached these Terms;
  • engaged in fraud or attempted fraud;
  • disputed a legitimate payment without first contacting BalticCareer;
  • shared an account or paid access;
  • scraped or redistributed content;
  • published illegal or misleading vacancies;
  • threatened platform security;
  • abused another User;
  • created excessive duplicate accounts;
  • caused legal, reputational or technical risk.

Where reasonably possible, BalticCareer may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the breach.

Immediate suspension may occur where necessary to protect Users, third parties, BalticCareer or the platform.

No refund is due where access is terminated because of a material breach, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

If BalticCareer terminates an active paid subscription without User fault and cannot provide the remaining service, BalticCareer may provide a proportionate refund for the unavailable period.

21. Platform Availability

BalticCareer aims to maintain reliable access but does not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Access may be temporarily affected by:

  • maintenance;
  • security updates;
  • hosting failures;
  • payment-provider failures;
  • internet outages;
  • software errors;
  • third-party services;
  • events outside BalticCareer’s reasonable control.

Temporary interruptions do not automatically create a right to a full refund.

Mandatory legal remedies for a digital service that does not conform to the contract remain unaffected.

22. Changes to the Platform

BalticCareer may update, improve or change platform functionality.

We may add or remove non-essential features and may change the appearance, organisation or technical operation of the website.

We will not intentionally remove the essential paid service during an active prepaid period without providing an appropriate remedy where required by law.

23. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BalticCareer is not liable for:

  • decisions made by employers or recruiters;
  • rejection of applications;
  • loss of employment opportunities;
  • inaccurate third-party vacancy information;
  • expired or withdrawn vacancies;
  • travel, medical, training or certification expenses;
  • employment disputes;
  • salary or contract disputes;
  • fraud committed by an independent third party;
  • indirect, incidental or consequential losses;
  • loss of profit, revenue, opportunity or business;
  • unauthorised account access caused by the User’s failure to protect credentials.

For Business Users, and to the extent permitted by law, BalticCareer’s total aggregate liability relating to the paid service will not exceed the amount paid by that Business User to BalticCareer during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct or other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

24. Business User Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, a Business User agrees to compensate BalticCareer for reasonable losses, claims, penalties and costs arising from:

  • unlawful or misleading vacancy content;
  • infringement of third-party rights;
  • unlawful processing of candidate data;
  • unauthorised use of another company’s identity;
  • breach of employment or recruitment law;
  • breach of these Terms.

This section applies to Business Users and does not remove mandatory consumer rights.

25. Complaints

Complaints should be submitted in writing to:

Email: info@balticcareer.eu

The complaint should include:

  • the User’s name;
  • account email;
  • order or payment reference;
  • description of the issue;
  • requested resolution;
  • relevant supporting evidence.

BalticCareer will provide a written response within 15 working days from receiving a consumer complaint, unless an objectively justified extension is necessary.

Consumers should first attempt to resolve the dispute directly with BalticCareer.

Where the dispute cannot be resolved, a Consumer may contact the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Centre or another competent out-of-court dispute-resolution body.

26. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia.

For Consumers residing in another country, this choice of law does not deprive them of mandatory consumer protections applicable in their country of habitual residence.

Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably may be submitted to a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.

For Business Users, unless mandatory law provides otherwise, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Latvia.

27. Changes to These Terms

BalticCareer may update these Terms to reflect:

  • changes to services;
  • subscription changes;
  • legal requirements;
  • security requirements;
  • technical developments;
  • business-operation changes.

The updated version will display a new “Last Updated” date.

Material changes affecting an active recurring subscription may be communicated by email or through the User’s account.

Changes do not retroactively remove rights that already arose before the updated Terms became effective.

Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance where legally permitted.

28. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

The invalid provision will be interpreted or replaced to the minimum extent necessary to make it lawful and enforceable.

29. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, subscription-page information and checkout information, form the agreement between the User and BalticCareer concerning the relevant services.

Where checkout information expressly provides specific subscription conditions, those specific conditions apply together with these Terms.
